Mueller College is a ministry of Mueller Community Church. Established in 1990, Mueller College caters for both Christian and non-Christian backgrounds with a total enrollment of approx 1400 students from prep to year 12.
OnePoint recently had the pleasure of developing a custom Student Management System and interactive Data Wall for Mueller College.
Student Data Wall
Mueller College required a comprehensive design and development package for an iterative student data wall which displays results at the student, class, grade, test and school level.
The aim of the student data wall is to easily identify students that are struggling or excelling in certain subjects. With staff able to clearly identify student performance, Mueller College can now direct the appropriate attention to each student.
The student data wall allows Mueller College to identify trends in student (and teachers) results across the chosen time frames.
While the student data wall is displayed on the school’s touch screen tv, the responsive framework allows the interface to scale down to tablet and mobile devices.
Student Management System
To assist with the student data wall, a student management system was created to administer student lists, teachers and tests.
The admin system was split into three modules, Students, Teachers and Subjects. The system now allows administrators to easily update student information and assign students to the teacher/class.
Subjects can also be managed via the new system, with the ability to add/edit/remove subjects and log student performance.
Custom Cloud Solution
Both the Student Data Wall and Student Management System are hosted in the cloud to ensure staff can access from any location and device.
Built with a PHP back-end and JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3 front-end, the new system has been developed with a focus on future scalability to allow new features and implementations.
